On November 8, 2016 in Rendon, Texas, Crystal Mason casted a provisional ballot and unknowingly committed voter fraud. She was sentenced her to five years. Mason appealed. But, before she could get a ruling on her appeal, a federal judge ordered her back to federal prison for an additional ten months. Mason was released from federal prison for a second time, this past September, and is now waiting for the Texas Court of Appeals to decide whether the illegal-voting conviction will stand.
